A big welcome to the Capeview Mitre 10 chain of hardware stores for making the move over to Prefab. Four of the stores are about to receive delivery of their new updated assembled stands. The new stands will hold a variety of sizes, with key to its popularity being their ability to be moved anywhere within the store. As you know if you work in this industry, space is always limited so to overcome this problem we came up with these new very mobile stands.
Another shipment of Iron Ash freshly treated with the True Core treatment process, giving our clients another affordable option with this locally sourced and sustainable Hardwood. As you can see the quality of the Iron Ash we have been sourcing is of upmost importance to everyone here at Prefab Stairs. At Prefab Stairs we are glad to offer an affordable Australian Hardwood alternative other than the expensive exotic timbers like Spotted Gum.
With the sun finally showing up and the footy season behind us, some of us are starting to get active in our back yards. This often means outdoor area's are starting to be altered and sometimes built. Decking season is upon us!! And with decks comes stairs!
Here's another load going out to top up stocks for some of our Home Hardware and Mitre 10 hardware stores. Pictured is driver Greg and director Karl. We supplied a big Commercial Builder with 8 sets of timber stairs to give their workers temporary access to the floors they were working on above and below and because we have our stairs on site asap no time was lost in productivity. With our standard 250mm wide treads and non-slip tread pattern our product at Prefab stairs is BCA compliant both Residentially and Commercially. Normally they would use Aluminium stairs but went with Prefab stairs timber option as a cost effective alternative. Here is another client who needed to access their mezzanine level for extra storage. Previously they were using a ladder to gain access which was less than ideal. Minimal space has been taken up creating a more user friendly and safer working environment.
Our client needed access to his rooftop deck but could only gain it externally. We gave them some advice and supplied them our stairs, Balustrade and landing and with the Merbau stain and ultragrip applied to the designated areas, our clients were more than happy with the finished structure Not bad!
On large building sites access for an army of tradesmen and tradeswomen is a top priority. Here is the perfect example of a company using three of our treated pine stairs, to create, a safe and user friendly thoroughfare to transport materials and people around on a undulating work-site. The best part about this is when they have finished in this area, they can pull it apart and either use it on a different job-site or on a separate part of the existing work-site. Renting a temporary set of aluminium stairs can be expensive, especially if its potentially going to be on site for an extended period of time. By ordering a set of Prefab stairs you know they will be BCA compliant, they will fit perfectly, and they will be cost effective compared to a rented set.
With the business always growing and expanding, we need the best quality and available Treated Pine that we can source world wide. The product we use is far superior to anything else in the marketplace, which makes our stairs, the BEST external timber stairs money can buy. As you can see there is barely a knot or imperfection in these beautiful sticks of Treated Pine. If you didn't know about timbers, you would say it doesn't even look like they have come out of a pine tree. At Prefab we take pride in the product that is coming of the factory floor. Minimal cupping and still no really obvious imperfections. Another job lot getting prepared to create great access for your outdoor space.
After installing your new set of stairs that you have purchased from Prefab, maintenance is probably the last thing on your mind. But without proper care and application with Intergrain coating products, you will not get the look, or life span that you are trying to achieve.
The Intergrain Natural stain together with the Intergrain Ultra grip will give you the longest lifespan and a high non-slip surface. The Stair should be re coated after the first 2 years and then every 3 years after that. Intergrain products can be re coated straight over the old coat with possibly just an Intergrain approved cleaning product applied beforehand. If you cannot remember the last time you coated the stairs, you will be able to tell by casting an eye on the stair and seeing if it looks tired and weathered, if it does then its probably time to re coat. The Intergrain Ultra Deck is the same as the Natural stain but wont last as long, it will need to be coated approximately every 18 months to 2 years. You can see all of the Intergrain range if you go to the Our Stairs section on our website. The truck is ready for another day of deliveries. Loaded with assembled and kit form stairs straight of the factory floor. Back in time to do a quick local run. The tyre's on the truck barely get a chance to cool down and its back on the road again.
